And just as I’m sure it is with your family, we have unique passions and special interests. So when we decided to create specialized CW guides to help you plan your next visit, I tried to think of what I would personally like to see. We received more than 200 entries in this year’s Sheep Week naming contest. Everyone had ideas for the first lambs of the season—adorable and spunky twin girls. In the end, our guest judges came to an almost unanimous decision……
It’s become a tradition that we know (or at least hope) many of you look forward to each year. In April, the social media team rolls out what we have dubbed “Sheep Week.” And for five glorious days, you’ll get a dose of cuteness that’s bound to bring a smile to your face. (Because seriously, who doesn’t get just a little bit happier at the sight of our lambs?). And we always start… with a naming contest….
From lambs and chicks to the vibrant splashes of color exploding in our more than 30 historic gardens—spring has arrived here in the colonial capital! While we’re unsure if and how this week’s frost will affect our blooms (we’ll keep you posted!), we can offer you a glimpse at how these gardens usually look and why they are considered must-sees for many employees and loyal guests….
