Colonial Williamsburg’s Manager of Photographic Services, Dave Doody, captured breathtaking photos of the Historic Area all dressed in white.
Growing up in the Tidewater area, I used to watch the forecasts for snow with so much excitement. Snow days were my favorite, not only because we had no school, but because there was nothing better than running around in the snow.
To this day I still love snow since I consider it to be a rare treat for us.
We typically get these kind of storms in February of each year, but Winter Storm Jonas decided to visit us a couple of weeks early.
I don’t live far from the Historic Area, and my home was covered in a blanket of white very quickly. I knew just down the street things were shaping up to be rather beautiful in the world’s largest living history museum.
Of course I was right. Snow tends to make even the most beautiful places even more stunning. Don’t you agree?
Here are some more gorgeous shots of the snow by Dave!

These winter wonderland photos are beautiful. One of my brothers recently moved to Williamsburg and he loves it. As his sister who lives in Texas, I envy him retiring to such a lovely place. 🙂

You really need to publish a book of Dave Doody’s work. I, for one, would buy it!

I love Williamsburg year round. Just spent the New Year holiday there. However, nothing is more beautiful than a fresh blanket of newly fallen snow on the colonial city! Thank you for the beautiful pictures. #wishiwasthere
