Looking for fun for the whole family? Don’t miss Colonial Williamsburg’s first ever Haunting on DoG Street: Blackbeard’s Revenge. We’re providing free trick-or-treating on not one, but two nights!
The activities start Friday, October 30 at 5 p.m., and we’re inviting the community to join us for games, costume contests, pumpkin decorating, and of course—candy! Mars, Inc has donated tens of thousands of treats to distribute throughout the Historic Area. You have to log onto our special Halloween webpage to register. But again, the trick-or-treating part is FREE! After you complete the registration process, you’ll get a voucher to bring to our Visitor Center and exchange for your candy bag. Take the spooky shuttle to the Historic Area where Blackbeard will greet you and point you in the direction of all the haunted festivities.
In addition to the free trick-or-treating, we have other ticketed activities planned for both Friday and Saturday night. The evenings are divided into two time “zones.” Everything that happens from 5-7:30 p.m. is geared toward younger kids (ages 3-12) and everything that takes place from 8-10 p.m. is considered PG-13 (think pirate zombies).
“A Pirate’s Life for Me” is the early ticket which costs $5 for each child and $10 for each adult. The ticket includes games, sing-alongs in our tavern, pumpkin decorating, costume contests, and haunted hay rides!
Then, from 8-10 p.m. the real terror begins. Your $15 “Under Blackbeard’s Flag” ticket gives you a tour of the haunted Gaol, access to the trial (and condemnation) of Blackbeard’s crew, ghost stories and superstitions from life at sea, and the big finale—a zombie walk down Duke of Gloucester.
For families and couples who are big into Halloween, stay with us for the weekend—we dare you! In a partnership with Busch Gardens, our exclusive hotel package, allows you to bounce back-and-forth between Howl-O-Scream and gives you unlimited access to all of our Haunting on DoG Street events, from 5-10 p.m.
Included in your two-night stay is also a $100 activities card that can be used in all our shops, restaurants, taverns, and to book carriage rides with our headless coachmen!
Later this month, we’ll announce how you can win a night in one of our haunted Colonial Houses plus get a VIP behind-the-scenes experience so if you haven’t already, be sure to subscribe to the blog.
Do you plan to join us? Let us know in the comment section below or better yet, RSVP to our Facebook event after you complete your registration. We hear Blackbeard is keeping a tally of how many people will be attending…
