Chowning’s Tavern reopens its doors, revealing an interior that’s informed by research, study, and science. Curator Amanda Keller and Director of Architectural Preservation Matt Webster teamed with experts throughout the Foundation to bring a new accuracy to this exciting new spot.
From the floorboards to the chandeliers, not a detail was overlooked when re-creating this rough-and-ready alehouse, where travelers in every century can stop to swap a story and quench their thirst.
