After more than a thousand entries, our Leicester Longwool triplets officially have names. As we wrap up another successful Sheep Week, we have chosen our winner and we think you’ll agree with our decision!
From history-inspired suggestions to pop culture references, we received the full gamut of entries. Some of them were so creative, even the triplets’ mama, Belle, couldn’t keep from LOLing when we read them to her.
But in the end, we thought Jamie, Yorkie, and Willie best suited these adorable siblings! All are abbreviated versions of the Historic Triangle: Jamestown, Yorktown, and Williamsburg.
Congratulations, Trish Fowler! You win two Multiday Passes, our Leicester Longwool Sheep Stuffed animal, a book about our Rare Breeds Program, Colonial Williamsburg tote, and Making History travel coffee mug.
We’d like to extend a very special “thank you” to everyone who entered. It was so much fun to get so many different suggestions. Be sure to join us again next year for Sheep Week and don’t forget to subscribe to our blog so you can get all of our fun Colonial Williamsburg interviews, behind-the-scenes looks at our programs and events, and any future contest announcements!
And for those of you curious whether your entry made it in the running—we’re also including some honorable mentions!

We’re glad you like the names, Faith! We hope you make it to visit us soon. Spring is such a beautiful time in the Revolutionary City, with all the blooming gardens and frolicking lambs.

Where exactly can I find these adorable little babies ? I was visiting on Sunday and saw some sheep but none of them were the precious triplets !
Jessica A. Ross says
Sharon - they are diagonal from Christiana Campbell’s Tavern - at the corner of Nicholson and Waller. Another landmark is the Capitol. This little pasture is behind it - to the far left!
Trish Fowler says
Thank you very much, I am honored that my names were chosen. I can’t wait to meet the babies in July!
Emily HR says
Great names!
Jessica A. Ross says
Trish - congratulations, again! We hope you enjoy your vacation with us. Even if these triplets have moved to another pasture, Elaine says we’re expecting another round of lambs in May so you should still be able to see some of the babies throughout the Historic Area!
