Send the Allied American Army on to Yorktown and Victory!

On to Yorktown, shot for Guidebook.

Picture this. It’s 1781 and the troops are getting ready to engage in yet another battle with the British. How much longer will the war endure?

You can relive this moment every day with our On to Yorktown and Victory! program. March alongside fifers and drummers as they make their way to Market Square and give our troops an enthusiastic sendoff.

If you’re just joining this blog, I am a history nut. There is something really really awesome about shouting “huzzah” and cheering on our troops. These brave men have been fighting for years and are going to continue to do so until the war is won and our independence is secure. You feel so patriotic.

With your Colonial Williamsburg Admission, you can check out An Officer’s Message to the People and Recruitment over by the Raleigh Tavern shortly before this program. There, you can volunteer to march with the troops and learn some of the basics. It gives you a front row look at On to Yorktown and Victory! and really participate in the experience.

Huzzah!
