If after watching our DIY post on how to make apple fans and centerpieces, you’re still a little intimidated, no worries. There is an array of fresh wreaths, centerpieces, and candle toppers for sale in the Colonial Nursery. And as a loyal reader of “Making History,” we’re sharing an exclusive look at some of those available for purchase and/or inspiration!
The prices range from around $30 for some of the smaller pieces to $120 for the “extra fancy” ones. Each piece is marked with a colored band that correlates with a certain price. Everything added to the wreaths (other than the fruit) has been dried and can be re-used next Christmas season. Merchandise does go quickly and as you’ll notice, no two creations are alike!
Do you have a favorite? Or maybe you created your own colonial masterpiece? We’d love to see it. Just upload your picture in the “comments” section below!

It would be terrific if you could do a blog post on how to create the dried fruits ourselves at home. I bought a bunch while I was there for Thanksgiving, but I would be really happy to be able to make more on my own.

Thank you! My case of boxwood has arrived from Virginia soon to be used for this year’s decorations. If I can’t be there with you, at least I can attempt to create a little Williamsburg ambiance here up North. Have a wonderful time at the Grand Illumination! Some day I hope to attend!
