You can’t get a complete tour of the Revolutionary City without stopping inside the Governor’s Palace or the Getty, Randolph, and Wythe Houses. All are rich in history. And all are said to be haunted. With Halloween around the corner, we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to take the Ghosts Amongst Us tour. I can promise you, the same buildings you’ve seen during the day take on a completely different feel when you visit them under a cloak of darkness—with nothing but lanterns, candles, and your imagination to guide your way.
The sky had been gloomy, grey, and rainy all day—the perfect backdrop for our ghost hunting adventure. By that night, the sun was barely visible—hidden behind a wall of thin yet ominous looking clouds.
For the next hour, our guide and three experienced performers, presented tales of fact and folklore—all of them so intricately interwoven, it was difficult to distinguish between history and hype. But then, maybe that’s the point. Sometimes simply the possibility of the paranormal is enough to get your heart racing and your blood flowing.
We heard tales of temptation and seduction, accounts of the undead traveling through the historic taverns, and stories of souls lost to greed and possibly even the devil himself. If ghosts didn’t already walk amongst us, they may now. Two blood curdling screams we heard that night were certainly loud enough to wake the dead.
Want to experience the fun yourself? Tours are taking place every night this week.

We were visiting a few years ago around Christmas and were taking pictures. Nothing unusual until we were home and looked at them. Some of them were very clear and others had a swirling fog in them.
