The familiar face often leading Colonial Williamsburg’s Fifes and Drums belongs to Lance Pedigo, a man who’s found some unexpected fame in keeping the tradition of military music alive in the Revolutionary City.
Known to fans near and far for his purposeful gaze and proud military posture, Pedigo often finds his image on brochures, calendars, and websites like this one. About his notoriety, he humbly says, “Well, I’m not the only one out front, but I must say that it does happen a lot and that is because of the drum major’s position in leading the Fifes and Drums down the street with the mace. I’m lucky enough to be a part of this organization and leading them down the street.”
This week on the podcast, meet Lance Pedigo, one of the men and women of the Historic Area who has devoted his life to preserving the life of the 18th century.
