Twenty-five years ago, the Colonial Williamsburg Teacher Institute began with a great idea: give teachers a week to immerse themselves in American history, and prepare them to take it back to their classrooms.
In the ensuing quarter-century, innumerable teachers have been inspired by the experience of being at the sites where history happened, and enjoying discussions and lectures with artisans, historians, and interpreters.
