Dear Mr. Hume,
I certainly do believe in the Ghosts of Williamsburg. I have not see any. I have, however, felt their presence. I turely believe that John Lowe is watching over Shield’s Tavern and that Jim Gay the kitchens in the restored area. I think John makes his presence know to me because he knew us after coming there for so many years. He could depend on us to help him stay in the 18th century during his dinner appearances. I believe there is someone upstairs at the King’s Arms. I have felt very cool air pass me at times when there could not be. I also feel there are “spirits” in the woods as far West as the merge at By-Pass and Richmond Road. One night after going on the Tavern Ghost Program we went back to our hotel on By-Pass. The room doors are interior doors. My husband was at the sink brushing his teeth. I had already crawled under the covers. My husband said all of a sudden he felt a very cool draft go past him. He thought that I had come up behind him. I’ve got bad knees, so doing a quick scamper to get back in bed would have taken too long. Besides he would have seen me in the mirror. Also my breath would have been warm. The door was not open. It was winter, so air from the hall would have also been warm. The window was closed and the draps drawn. We can only figure a spirit from a by-gone time travels through that area. We can’t explain it. I think that experience has my husband at least a partial believer.
Have a good evening,
Chris
