Colonial Williamsburg is open during the government shutdown

The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation is a privately funded, not-for-profit organization and is not affected by the federal government shutdown. All activities and events will go on as planned.

You can find scheduled events in the daily calendar, from Music in the Museums on Thursday to the Farmers Market on Saturday, and much more.

Travelers should be aware that part of the Colonial Parkway may be closed. Because they are affiliated with the National Park Service, Historic Jamestowne and Yorktown Battlefield also will be closed as long as the federal government remains closed. State-funded Jamestown Settlement and Yorktown Victory Center remain open.

Historic Triangle Shuttle buses continue to operate between Colonial Williamsburg’s Regional Visitor Center, Yorktown and the Jamestown Settlement and will use Route 31 (Jamestown Road) from 199 to Jamestown while the Colonial Parkway is closed.

Guests holding Historic Triangle tickets (which include access to Historic Jamestowne) may obtain assistance by going to the Colonial Williamsburg Regional Visitor Center.

Until the federal government shutdown is resolved, no Historic Triangle tickets will be sold online or at the Colonial Williamsburg Regional Visitor Center.
